Job Summary
The Shipping and Receiving Associate is responsible for preparing finished label products for shipment, receiving incoming materials, and supporting the efficient flow of materials throughout the production facility. This position packages inspected rolls and sheeted labels, prepares shipping documentation, operates packaging equipment, and assists with loading and unloading deliveries.
The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and able to respond professionally to direct communication and changing priorities. When shipping and receiving responsibilities are completed, this position will assist in other production areas, including packaging, rewinding, material handling, and press staging.
General Accountabilities
  • Package inspected rolls and sheeted labels according to customer and shipping requirements.
  • Operate shrink-wrapping and other packaging equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Prepare bills of lading, shipping labels, packing slips, and other required shipping documentation.
  • Enter and maintain accurate shipment and receiving information in company computer systems.
  • Receive incoming materials, supplies, and deliveries and verify quantities against shipping documents.
  • Direct delivery drivers to the appropriate loading or unloading area.
  • Assist with loading and unloading trucks and delivery vehicles.
  • Operate a forklift and other material-handling equipment when trained and authorized.
  • Inspect outgoing packages for accuracy, proper labeling, and overall condition before shipment.
  • Organize finished products and materials within designated shipping, receiving, and staging areas.
  • Pull materials and supplies needed for scheduled production work.
  • Stage materials at presses for machine operators.
  • Communicate shipment, delivery, inventory, or material concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shipping and receiving area.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, quality standards, and manufacturing practices.
  • Assist in the packaging department when shipping and receiving work is completed.
  • Provide support in the rewinding department as needed.
  • Perform other production, warehouse, and material-handling duties as assigned.
