Under the general supervision of the Plant Manager, the Warehouse Department Manager provides direction and has ownership for warehousing, material processing, and/or distribution activities. As a member of the Plant Leadership Team, requires comprehensive understanding of the concepts and principles within their own functional area and also requires basic knowledge of these elements in other relevant functional areas in order to participate in the resolution of issues that have an impact beyond the area or impact multiple areas.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Leads uninterrupted delivery of goods to and from product lines and/or customers
  • Ensures completion of outbound schedules and compliance to specifications and all documented protocols
  • Utilizes the MHPS Systems to empower and develop their teams using established MHPS systems, core beliefs, guiding principles and attributes
  • Supports plant and department strategies and targets in support of greater than 80% Process Reliability
  • Executes strategy for cost optimization and continuous improvement for Warehouse operations
  • Develops and maintains performance measures for Warehouse team
  • Owns Warehouse operating procedures, warehousing of finished goods inventory and positively influences vendor communication and negotiation
  • Coaches, motivates, and supports a High Performance Work Systems (HPWS) team to ensure information flow, employee development, problem-solving, goal setting, and process improvements
  • Manages a 3 shift warehouse operation
  • Prepares business impact assessment for sudden changes to plan
  • Performs evaluations and creates development/training plans for individuals within the Warehouse team
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical Field (i.e. Food Science, Engineering, or Chemistry) or in a Supply Chain discipline required
  • Minimum 7-10 years of Warehouse Management and/or Distribution Management experience in the manufacturing industry required
  • Demonstrated experience with warehouse and distribution safety standards and best practices required (Documentation of such experience will be required)
  • Experience as a Plant Leadership Team (PLT) member required
  • Demonstrated experience developing, coaching, and motivating employees in a team based environment required
  • Demonstrated experience responding to multiple and changing priorities and achieving results within a compressed time frame required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary to effectively interact with all levels within the facility and organization required
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, diplomacy, and decision-making skills required
  • Proficiency with MS Excel and Word required
  • Proficiency with SAP or another ERP system required; SAP preferred
  • Demonstrated competency in WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) applications required
  • Experience in Transportation and another area of Supply Chain outside of distribution, preferred
  • Flexibility to work across all shifts to meet business needs, required
  • Willingness to relocate for future assignments required
  • Food, beverage and/or pharmaceutical manufacturing (GMP environment) experience preferred
