  • Georgia-Pacific has an opening for a Forklift Operator at our CORRIGAN, TX Plywood Mill. If you are motivated by working in a fast-paced environment while operating a forklift safely and efficiently, this may be the job for you!

Rate of Pay and Work Schedule
  • The starting wage for this position is $25.00 an hour.

Key Responsibilities
• Have the mental and physical ability to operate a Forklift and work intensely at a rapid pace
• Work and communicate well with co-workers and supervisors
• Apply knowledge of veneer grades and be able to properly identify veneer
• Operate forklift safely and efficiently to achieve quality and productivity goals
• Adhere to all safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures
• Maintain cleanliness of work area throughout shift to ensure a safe and orderly working environment

Basic Qualifications
• At least one year of experience operating a forklift in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with loading/unloading in tight spaces for example: warehouses, truck trailers, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
• Two years of experience operating a forklift
• Experience operating a forklift in a manufacturing environment
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office applications
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks including climbing ladders and working at heights or in confined spaces.
  • Ability to work in a plywood mill environment with dust, noise, heat, and cold conditions.
