Job description

Position Title: Warehouse Assistant

Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Compensation: $20.00 – $22.00 per hour (Commensurate with experience)
Availability: Immediate / Currently Interviewing

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (35 to 40 per week)

Position Overview

We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and highly motivated Warehouse Assistant to join our team in a fast-paced environment. This comprehensive role requires a blend of physical logistics, material handling equipment operation, and office-based administrative support. The ideal candidate is a proactive multitasker capable of stepping into a leadership capacity and assisting with managerial responsibilities when the Warehouse Manager is out of the office.

Key Responsibilities

·         Order Fulfillment: Accurately pull, stock, pick, pack, and palletize customer orders.

·         Logistics & Material Handling: Safely load and unload freight trucks using both stand-up and sit-down forklift equipment (including stock pickers).

·         Inventory Management: Maintain strict inventory control and organize warehouse stock utilizing lift equipment.

·         Customer Service & Administration: Act as a Customer Service Representative (CSR) by contacting freight carriers and composing professional email communications to customers.

·         Operational Back-up: Serve as the primary point of contact and manage daily warehouse operations when the Warehouse Manager is off-site.


Qualifications & Experience

·         Technical Proficiency: Strong computer skills are required; experience navigating multiple distinct software programs is essential. Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Excel is highly preferred.

·         Equipment Certification: Proven experience safely operating stand-up and sit-down forklifts (stock pickers).

·         Physical Requirements: Ability to consistently lift and maneuver cartons weighing up to 50 lbs. in a fast-paced setting.

·         Communication & Organization: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong eye for detail and superior multitasking capabilities.
