Job description

Position Summary: Advanced Exterior Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Salesperson / Estimator to join our growing Team in Nashville, TN and Charlotte, NC. AES is seeking a top producer / sales professional in the commercial high end cladding industry that is eager to learn, enthusiastic and up for an exciting challenge to assist in building a new location for us. Our Senior Sales Estimator is primarily responsible for building relationships with General Contractors and Architects and using contract documents to prepare a complete list of all job costs, including labor, material, equipment, and complimenting items necessary to complete the project followed by the development and presentation of a Proposal.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communicate effectively as part of a Team and understand sales and negotiating technique.
  • Ability to build and strengthen strong customer relationships. Existing industry relationships are a plus!
  • Maintain knowledge of architectural cladding designs and planning principles and procedures.
  • Develop and present building estimates for cladding, faade and building envelop rain screen systems. ACM / MCM panels, metal panels systems, terra cota, ornamental screen walls, etc.
  • Strong understanding of schematic plans, blueprints, and/or technical manuals.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of building components life cycle values and maintenance requirements.
  • Skills in workflow analysis and management.
  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
  • Knowledge of contract documents and specifications.
  • Ability to provide technical guidance and/or supervision to architects, structural engineers, and independent building contractors.
  • Knowledge of the operating practices of construction, architectural, and building firms.
  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local building codes, ordinances, and regulations.
  • Ability to negotiate and manage contractual arrangements.
  • Knowledge of procurement rules and regulations.
  • Ability to assess contract compliance and product/service quality.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, cost estimating, and fiscal management principles and procedures.
  • Ability to perform site inspections and/or approve installations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Prior knowledge of construction techniques, sequencing and scheduling.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, must have skill in the use of computers and all Microsoft Office products

Work Environment/Working Conditions

Employee will work in an office/field environment. The noise level is usually moderate but may be high when encountering field operations. Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. Moderate physical activity requiring the handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four hours per day.
