We're currently looking for a Part-Time Nanny in Port Washington, NY (11050)
A wonderful family in Port Washington, NY is seeking reliable, flexible help for three well rounded children. The role focuses on school drop-offs, after-school care, and light support with activities in a friendly, walkable neighborhood.
Located in the heart of Port Washington, this home is within walking distance to Main Street, parks, and local amenities-and just a short walk from the train station (easy access to NYC).
Schedule:
  • Mondays (every other): 7:00 AM - 9:00 AM
    • Driving youngest to school (max 20 minute drive with traffic)
  • Wednesdays: 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM (sometimes until 5 PM)
    • Picking up youngest from school
    • Afterschool activities (walking distance)
  • Thursdays: 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM (sometimes until 5 PM)
    • Picking up youngest from school
    • Afterschool activities (walking distance)
Start date: ASAP
Length of Position: Ongoing
Rate: $35 per hour (based on experience) + mileage reimbursement ($0.725 per mile)
3 children: Ages 10, 7, and 5
  • Mondays:
    • Helping with morning routine
    • Helping and cleaning up breakfast
    • Getting the kids ready for school
    • Getting the youngest to school (driving distance 15-20 minutes max)
  • Wednesdays & Thursdays:
    • Picking up youngest from school
    • Afterschool care
    • Supervising children and ensuring a safe, engaging environment
    • Preparing snacks or heating pre-made meals
    • Walking children to local activities (tutoring, park, library-all within walking distance)
    • Staying with youngest child during older children's activities
    • Light pet care (prompting the children to walk their dog)
  • Minimum 2+ years of childcare experience with school age children
  • Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle
  • Comfortable driving children (car seat for youngest provided)
  • CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Ability to pass background, social media, and driving record checks
  • At least 2 childcare-related references
  • Comfort with dogs (older Labrador Retriever, friendly)

This position pays $35 per hour (based on experience). The family is seeking approximately 6-8 hours per week with potential for additional hours. Mileage reimbursement is provided for driving duties.
