Seeking ED Tech!
Full-time (36hours/week), 7P-7A, Days Vary, Rotates weekends
Baptist Health Floyd, Emergency Department
Southern Indiana/Louisville, Kentucky area
General Purpose:
The ED Technician I is the second tier of the pre-analytical testing team stationed within the ED (triage, fast-track, and/or main ED). Their responsibilities include triaging patients (rooming, undressing, placing patient on cardiac monitor, obtaining BP, temperature, blood sugar via the glucometer, etc.), answering call lights, helping with varies procedure set-ups while maintaining sterile fields (central lines, wound kits, gynecology, etc.), cleans and dresses wounds, and I&D's, assists with casting & splinting, fits patients with varies devices such as (slings, camm boots, walkers, stretchers, etc.), collects swabs such as flu & strep, transporting patients (CT, Ultrasound, MRI and/or inpatient units, etc.), performs EKG's as requested, assist with all resuscitations in addition to either performing Foleys & urine catheters OR phlebotomy.
