This position focuses on supporting the front-of-house team by managing the preparation and replenishment of dining areas, assisting with the delivery of food and beverages, and maintaining cleanliness and organization. The Back Waiter acts as a vital link between the kitchen and the dining room, ensuring that guests receive timely and attentive service. This role requires a proactive approach to anticipating the needs of both guests and servers, contributing to an overall positive dining experience. Ultimately, the Back Waiter helps create a welcoming and seamless environment that supports customer satisfaction and operational excellence.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during shifts.

  • Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working as a back waiter, busser, or in a similar support role in a restaurant.
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and order tracking.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer service experience with a focus on hospitality.
  • Certification in food handling or safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist servers by delivering food and beverages to tables promptly and accurately.

Effective communication skills are essential for coordinating with servers and kitchen staff to deliver orders accurately and promptly. Physical stamina and attention to detail are used to manage the physical demands of the role, such as carrying trays and maintaining cleanliness. Problem-solving skills help in anticipating and addressing any service issues before they affect the guest experience. Additionally, knowledge of food safety and hygiene is applied consistently to uphold health standards and ensure a safe dining environment.
