Position Overview

The Waitstaff ensures a positive dining experience for all residents by providing attentive service, maintaining clean and organized dining areas, and supporting overall food service operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Report to work on time in proper attire, with clean hands and nails, prepared for pre-meal briefing

  • Serve residents in assigned areas; assist other areas when time permits

  • Clean and set tables, vacuum or mop dining areas, and pick up loose items from the floor

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in all dining service areas according to schedule

  • Learn the special needs of residents and report any changes in behavior to nursing staff

  • Follow all policies in the Employee Handbook and Performance Expectations

  • Report unsafe conditions or needed repairs to maintenance or supervisor

  • Immediately report any on-the-job injuries

  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications
  • Must be at least 16 years old (if under 18, a Minor Work Permit is required)

  • High school diploma or GED preferred

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in food service preferred

  • Food Handlers certificate (within 14 days) and Dementia Training (within 90 days) required

  • Proficient in resident care, customer service, teamwork, and maintaining a positive attitude

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and carry 35 lbs

  • Frequent standing, walking, squatting, bending, and repetitive arm/hand movements

  • Ability to push 250 lbs in a wheelchair or cart
