Job description

VACANCY:  The Valley View Public School District is seeking an individual to fill a temporary Athletic Trainer substitute guest' teaching position for the 2026-2027 school year. 

DATES:  November 19, 2026 - March 10, 2027

JOB SUMMARY: The teacher is responsible to the Building Principal for: planning instructional lessons that meet the needs, interests, and abilities of students; creating a classroom environment that is conducive to learning; and employing effective instructional techniques. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Applicants must hold a State of Illinois (PEL) Professional Educator License with a Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer (BOC) for athletic trainers.
  • Successful secondary (912) or collegiate athletic training experience (preferred).
  • Demonstrated skill in evaluating, treating, and rehabilitating athletic injuries, managing return-to-play protocols, and maintaining accurate medical documentation.
  • Knowledge of modern sports medicine techniques, injury prevention strategies, and emergency action planning.
  • Ability to organize and manage the athletic training facility to ensure a safe, efficient care environment for student-athletes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with student-athletes, parents, coaches, physicians, and school administration.
  • Willingness to provide coverage for athletic events, practices, and co-curricular programs.

Salary Range:  $32.50-$45.00/Hour
