This role focuses on operational security and works closely with outsourced Security Operations Centers (SOCs), internal Information Security Officers (ISOs/vCISOs), and third-party vendors. You’ll help identify threats, respond to incidents, support compliance efforts, and promote security awareness across our client base—primarily within the financial services industry.

  • Coordinate Incident Response
    • Work with client SOCs and IT teams to escalate, track, and resolve security incidents in a timely and effective manner.
  • Analyze Network & Security Logs
    • Examine logs from technologies such as SASE and Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) to identify unauthorized access or abnormal behavior.
  • Identify & Document Threats
    • Detect, document, and report abnormal activities, potential breaches, and indicators of compromise (IOCs).
  • Vendor Collaboration
    • Coordinate with third-party vendors to support security requirements and initiatives under the guidance of the ISO or vCISO.
  • Vulnerability Assessment
    • Perform regular vulnerability scans and assist in identifying weaknesses, misconfigurations, and remediation opportunities.
  • Compliance Monitoring
    • Help identify gaps in compliance with company policies and industry standards, including GLBA and PCI-DSS, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Audit Support
    • Assist with internal and external audits by gathering and organizing security evidence and documentation.
  • Security Awareness Training
    • Support the delivery of security awareness training and initiatives for clients in collaboration with the ISO/CISO.

What You Bring To Pure IT:

  • A foundational understanding of cybersecurity concepts, including threat detection, incident response, and risk management.
  • Familiarity with networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, VPNs).
  • Basic experience with or exposure to security tools, log analysis, or alert triage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to document findings clearly and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A willingness to learn, ask questions, and grow in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks or priorities.
  • A collaborative mindset and a customer-focused approach to security.

    • Vulnerability Management: ConnectSecure, Qualys, Nessus, Footprints
    • SASE: Cato
    • Firewalls / IPS: Cisco Umbrella, Fortinet FortiGate, Palo Alto Panorama
    • Email Security: Microsoft Defender, Mimecast, Zix, Proofpoint

  • Industry certifications such as:

  • Prior experience supporting credit unions or financial institutions

Why You'll Love Working With Us:
  • A collaborative and friendly team that supports each other.
  • Opportunities for growth, training, and certification support.
  • Flexible hybrid work schedule with a mix of remote and on-site work (on-site days are Wednesday and Thursday only).
