Job Title: Cobol / Mainframe Developer
Location: Milwaukee, WI
Job Description:
This is for a Cobol / Mainframe Developer who would work within Card Management Systems.
  • Must need to have an experience with Mainframe.
  • Need a strong experience with Cobol Programming and JCL.
  • Will be responsible for handling backend business logics.
  • Experience with Payment Transactions or Debit Transactions area would be nice to have.
  • Must need to have hands-on coding experience.
  • Previous Client experience is a great to have.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent experience.
  • 8 years of software development engineering experience.
  • Working knowledge in Linux, UNIX & z/OS operating systems.
  • Proficient with Mainframe Development as well as modern Object-Oriented development.
  • Need to be able to develop in both a legacy Mainframe TSO environment and also a modern server/container environment using common IDE's and development tools.
  • Knowledge and experience in transformation/modernization of processing high volumes of data via Mainframe processing to scalable On-prem Distributed or Cloud processing via microservices and containers.
  • Knowledge of the following: File Transmission (FTP/NDM) & batch processing in very high-volume settings is required.
  • Knowledge of event driven architecture and common event processing models and platforms is desired.
  • Experience in technical design writing and documentation.
  • Work independently and collaborate in team design sessions.
  • Strong unit testing skills.
  • Flexibility to be on on-call support, as required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in Financial Services industry.
  • Experience in decomposing and rewriting legacy processes and systems into more modern infrastructures a plus.
  • Familiarity in microservice architectures and containers (Kubernetes/K8s, OpenShift, Docker) a plus.
  • Familiarity in processing in a cloud (Azure, AWS) environment a plus.
  • Familiarity in Domain Driven Design a plus.
