What is a VSP?

VSPs, or Vision Service Providers, are companies or organizations that offer vision insurance plans to individuals and groups. These plans help cover the cost of eye care services like eye exams, glasses, and contact lenses. VSP is also the name of one of the largest vision insurance providers in the United States, known for its extensive network of eye care professionals. VSP plans typically offer discounts or allowances for eyewear and may include additional benefits such as laser vision correction discounts. Enrolling in a VSP plan can help make routine eye care more affordable for members.

What are some common challenges faced by VSPs when coordinating with multiple clients and how can they be addressed?

VSPs often juggle competing priorities from multiple clients, each with different expectations, timelines, and communication styles. This can lead to challenges in managing workloads, setting boundaries, and ensuring consistent service quality. To address these challenges, VSPs benefit from establishing clear communication protocols, utilizing project management tools, and regularly updating clients on progress. Building strong organizational habits and fostering transparent relationships with clients can help prevent misunderstandings and ensure successful project outcomes.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Vice President (VP), and why are they important?

Exceptional communication, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills help VPs inspire teams and drive organizational goals. Job description

Associate Optometrist

Family Vision Care and Contact Lenses in Roseville, California is looking for an Associate Optometrist who is passionate about providing thoughtful, personalized care and building meaningful relationships with patients, teammates, and the local community. This opportunity is ideal for someone who values collaboration, communicates with empathy and professionalism, and is excited to grow with a well-established practice that puts patient experience first.

Established in 1990, Family Vision Care and Contact Lenses has built a strong reputation for providing comprehensive, patient-centered eye care for every stage of life. The practice offers advanced services including dry eye treatment, myopia management, glaucoma, cataract and refractive management, specialty contact lenses, corneal care, and diabetic eye exams. With nearly five decades of combined medical management experience and deep connections throughout the Roseville medical community, the team is committed to delivering thoughtful care in a welcoming, kid-friendly environment. As the practice continues to grow over the next few years, this is a meaningful opportunity to join a dedicated team and help shape its continued success.

What you'll do: As an Associate Optometrist, you'll provide full-scope optometric care in accordance with California state guidelines while supporting a broad range of patient needs, with a full day typically seeing 16 to 18 patients per doctor. You'll use advanced diagnostic technology, including wide-field high-resolution photography, anterior and posterior OCT imaging, corneal topography, meibography and tear film analysis, tear assay testing, visual field technologies, video slit lamp imaging, and modern electronic refraction systems. You'll also maintain accurate records, complete self-audits, and participate in practice development and administrative responsibilities as assigned by senior team members. The position is designed to start at 24–32 hours per week during the first 90 days, with the opportunity to transition into a full-time salaried role of 32–44 hours per week.

Who you are: You're a passionate, dedicated optometrist with a Doctor of Optometry degree in good standing, an active California license, and DEA and TPA certifications. You bring a strong commitment to exceptional eye care and community vision health, along with the confidence to make complex medical decisions and proactively treat ocular disease. Because the practice has a large myopia control presence and serves many pediatric patients, you should be comfortable working with children and supporting comprehensive, patient-centered care. Candidates must also have no criminal record or civil action suits related to the practice of optometry.

Why you'll love Central West Roseville: Central West Roseville offers the best of suburban comfort and everyday convenience, with easy access to shopping, dining, parks, schools, and major roadways. The area blends established neighborhood charm with newer growth, making it a welcoming place for those who enjoy a strong community feel, family-friendly amenities, and plenty of ways to get outside. From nearby trails and recreation to local restaurants and retail destinations, Central West Roseville provides a balanced lifestyle that makes it easy to feel connected both at work and at home.

You'll enjoy a range of benefits, including:

  • Sick and vacation time
  • Paid time off
  • Health insurance benefits
  • Dental plan(s)
  • Aflac supplemental insurance
  • Life & disability insurance
  • Flex spending accounts
  • Dependent day care allowance through section 125
  • Matching 401K plan

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Optometry license in California
