We rely on and trust our Medical Records - Health Information Specialist to responsible for maintaining the medical records according to established standards and policy as well as with state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain all medical records in designated area in accordance with established policies and procedures
  • Prepare admission packets and establish medical files
  • Maintains open charts by filing all clinical documentation daily as it is received
  • Monitor and audit records for completeness and accuracy at assigned intervals
  • Process, transfer and discharge records and maintain appropriate records on discharged residents including preparation of bereavement file, if applicable
  • Prepare reports as directed and inform center or agency leadership of any deficiencies in documentation

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • At least one year previous clerical experience, preferably in a medical setting
  • Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance
