Job description

Drives doctor advocacy efforts, serving as VSP's principal insurance and legislative advocates among eye care professionals and doctor influencers. Problem solver who works to address complex issues and questions and helps doctors maximize their relationship with VSP.
Supports the development and drives implementation of short- and long-term strategic outreach plans, collaborating with business partners across the enterprise
Develops and maintains strong external relationships with policy-setting doctors and influencers within the optical industry. Implement strategies designed to influence the competitive markets in which doctors operate
Serve as a point of contact to research, analyze, and resolve complex issues and escalations involving practice-level and policy matters, coordinating with internal and external business partners when needed
Understands managed vision legislation and its implications for doctors
Knowledgeable about VSP insurance products and services, and assists doctors and staff with strategies to help them maximize their relationship with VSP
As necessary, serves as speaker/facilitator at events/workshops of all sizes
Maintains knowledge about the national and regional health care marketplace, about the vision insurance environment, and about VSP's insurance products and services
Represents the doctor perspective on issues related to VSP and the broader industry within the enterprise
Demonstrates a broad knowledge of the organization's strategic direction, balancing business and customer needs to achieve successful outcomes
Identifies and alerts the organization to business trends and conversation themes which could impact VSP or the industry

Typically has the following skills or abilities:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, or other related area or equivalent experience required. Masters preferred
Minimum of six years of provider relations, direct outside sales, account management, business development, or client relationship experience, preferably in the optical industry
Capable problem solver who identifies challenges on behalf of doctors and successfully works with other internal stakeholders to address issues
Demonstrated professionalism and leadership in dealing with situations involving controversy and conflict
Team player who enjoys working together with others to develop strategy and align on tactical execution
Self-starter able to work independently
Advanced written and verbal communication, influencing, and problem-solving skills
Experienced speaker capable of addressing large audiences and facilitating group discussions

Compensation range for the role is listed below. Applicable salary ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. Salary Ranges: $84,000.00 - $141,750.00
