Opportunity:
We are seeking Information System Security Engineers (ISSEs) to join a high-performing team of experts in Cybersecurity, Cloud, and Systems Engineering. This team will support the development and sustainment of secure enclaves, providing enterprise services and cyber network defense capabilities.
As an ISSE, you will be responsible for conducting security assessments, engineering secure solutions, automating defensive cyber activities, and advising leadership on risks and mitigation strategies. Candidates should bring expertise with technologies such as ePO, Splunk, ACAS, Azure Automation, STIG/SCAP, and Active Directory to secure complex mission systems and ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform and review technical security assessments of computing environments to identify vulnerabilities and compliance gaps.
  • Engineer unique cybersecurity solutions to support Cyber Threat and Defensive Operations.
  • Automate security monitoring, threat assessments, and reporting functions.
  • Analyze system and organizational security posture trends; provide findings to the ISSM/ISSO.
  • Recommend cybersecurity measures and mitigations based on evolving threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Implement security controls in alignment with DoD policies and principles of confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, and non-repudiation.
  • Recommend and plan modifications based on exercise results and security testing outcomes.
  • Mitigate or recommend acceptance of identified risks and deficiencies during certification and testing activities.

Certificates/Security Clearances/Other
Required Qualifications:
  • Certification: IAT/IAM/IASAE Level III (DoD 8570 compliant)
Security Clearance:
  • Active Top Secret with SCI
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Technical certifications in Microsoft Azure or related cloud technologies.

Experience:
  • 5-8 years of demonstrated performance in related technology areas.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field and 3+ years of leadership experience.
  • OR equivalent professional experience.
Travel:
  • Up to 10%
Security Clearance:
  • Active Top Secret with SCI
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years leadership experience in cybersecurity or related technical field.
  • Technical certifications in Microsoft Azure or related cloud technologies.
Requirements:
  • Must be within driving distance of Lorton, VA OR willing to relocate there
  • Must be willing to work onsite
  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 10%
  • Must possess an active TS/ SCI clearance or above
