VRF / VRV Refrigeration Technician – Lead VRF and Split System Installations


  • Company: Feddon Mechanical LLC.

  • Job/Employment Type: Full-Time.
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday (Early start times and overtime based on project needs).

The Opportunity

You will step onto high-profile commercial jobsites as a trusted technical expert, taking ownership of complex VRF/VRV and split system installations. This position offers a hands-on environment where your craftsmanship, clean piping layout, and brazing skills are valued and respected. At Feddon Mechanical, you will work alongside a dependable field crew and leadership team that prioritizes clear expectations, jobsite safety, and your long-term career growth.


How You Will Make an Impact

  • Install refrigerant piping, line sets, structural supports, and insulation for advanced VRF/VRV and split systems.
  • Set, mount, and connect indoor and outdoor HVAC equipment including condensers, air handlers, and cassette units.
  • Execute clean, code-compliant refrigerant piping workflows including professional routing, brazing, and nitrogen purging.
  • Pressure test lines and pull proper vacuums to verify complete system integrity before final equipment charging.
  • Install condensate piping, drain lines, and pumps in strict accordance with project blueprints and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Connect low-voltage control and communication wiring to ensure accurate equipment addressing and startup readiness.
  • Coordinate daily jobsite sequencing with your field Foreman to maintain production schedules and eliminate trade conflicts.


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • 5+ years of HVAC installation experience, with a heavy focus on commercial construction environments.
  • Active EPA Universal Certification.
  • Proven experience installing VRF/VRV systems (e.g., Daikin, Mitsubishi, LG, Samsung, Carrier, Trane).
  • Strong capability to read and accurately interpret mechanical drawings, equipment schedules, and submittals.
  • Physical capacity to lift 50 pounds regularly, climb ladders, work on rooftops, and navigate active construction sites.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and dependable transportation.
  • Possession of basic hand tools appropriate for the HVAC trade.


Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience with commercial HVAC service, preventative maintenance, or diagnostic troubleshooting.
  • Current OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 safety certification.
  • Familiarity using Procore or alternative digital construction field applications to track jobsite progress.
  • Practical experience coordinating equipment rigging, crane lifting, or holding a valid aerial lift certification.
  • Background working on mechanical systems inside occupied healthcare, educational, or hospitality facilities.
