Description
Job Summary
The purpose of this job is to teach 24-30 classroom and lab hours per week in the Welding Curriculum. Work with the Dean in recruiting students; maintain required documentation; maintain classroom/lab and any equipment; enforce safety regulations and perform a variety of related duties.
Examples of Duties
Essential Duties
  • Manage instructional program and teach 24-30 classroom and lab hours per week in the Welding program. Teaching assignments may be scheduled on either campus during the day, evening, weekends or online.
  • Recruit students for the program and ensure that promotional information is current and accurate.
  • Assist the Dean in recruiting, hiring, and mentoring qualified adjunct faculty for the Welding program.
  • Advise students through the program using current information.
  • Develop and maintain accessible syllabi and course materials specific to the program.
  • Coordinate textbook selection, library resources, equipment, and supplies to enhance learning.
  • Assist the Dean with class scheduling.
  • Raise funds through grants and/or other means to meet the financial needs of the program.
  • Participate in professional development activities that benefit the program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean, or the Vice President, Instruction.

Typical Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience: Associate's Degree and five years of work experience, advanced training and/ or related work experience in specified teaching area preferred.
Licenses and Certificates: None.
Specialized Training: Welding, Blueprint Reading, and Schematics.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of college policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of State Board Policies including Career and College Promise.
  • Knowledge of local LEAs.
  • Knowledge of curriculum and continuing education program content.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
