Job description

The Opportunity

Jetson is replacing furnaces and ACs with heat pumps across North America. It's a big market, a hard operational problem, and one of the highest-leverage ways to cut residential emissions. We're scaling quickly, and we need a VP of Finance who can build the accounting and financial operations backbone that lets us keep moving at this pace without breaking things.

You'll report to the CFO and partner closely with them on everything from monthly reporting to fundraising diligence. You'll own controllership end to end across our US and Canadian entities, lead and grow the accounting team, and stand up the systems, controls, and processes that a company at our stage needs to operate well and, eventually, audit cleanly. This is a senior leadership role with real scope, not a controllership with a bigger title.

What You Will Do:
  • Own the consolidated financial close across our US and Canadian entities and drive it toward a faster, cleaner monthly cadence
  • Lead, hire, and develop the accounting team, building it from a small group of operators into a functional organization with managers and clear ownership
  • Produce US GAAP financial statements, board reporting packages, and investor materials in partnership with the CFO
  • Own technical accounting items such as revenue recognition, lease accounting, equity, and the complex transactions that come with scale and consumer financing
  • Build and maintain the internal control environment, with an eye toward external audit readiness
  • Manage the relationships with our external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners
  • Own tax strategy and compliance across US federal, state, and Canadian jurisdictions, including indirect tax in the markets we operate in
  • Lead the financial systems roadmap, including NetSuite optimization and integrations with Jetson's key systems and agentic environment
  • Partner with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning, and make sure the actuals and the plan can actually be reconciled
  • Support fundraising, M&A, and strategic diligence work alongside the CFO
  • Oversee treasury, cash management, and working capital across entities
What You Bring:
  • 12+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership, with meaningful time as a Controller or VP at a high-growth, venture-backed company
  • Active CPA
  • Big 4 or comparable public accounting foundation, followed by real operating experience in industry
  • US GAAP expertise preferred
  • Experience running multi-entity, cross-border accounting, ideally US and Canada
  • A track record of scaling an accounting function through fast growth, including hiring and developing managers underneath you
  • NetSuite fluency strongly preferred, and a point of view on what a modern finance stack should look like
  • Experience preparing for and managing external audits
  • Grounding in tax, including indirect tax in a multi-jurisdiction environment
  • A clear, direct communication style and comfort presenting to executives, investors, and the board
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; MBA or Master's in Accounting a plus
  • Experience with modern tools, including AI, to automate and make your day more efficient
