About the Company:
Mercatus Finance is a Private Credit investor providing customized credit solutions to the lower middle market. Investing out of its $600mm perpetual fund, we partner with businesses generating $5mm-$40mm of EBITDA by providing debt capital solutions for M&A, Growth Initiatives, Refinancings and navigating periods of stress. Mercatus is a portfolio company of Arena Investors LP, headquartered in New York, NY. Mercatus Finance is headquartered in Charlotte, NC.
Requirements
Vice Presidents at Mercatus play a critical role in helping lead all aspects of the investment process including but not limited to:
โ€ข Assist in the hiring, training, and management of associates
โ€ข Work closely with the investment and origination teams to guide investment decisions
โ€ข Lead all aspects of the due diligence process, including building financial models, screening potential transactions, authoring investment memoranda and presentations, completing financial and industry due diligence, assisting in legal documentation drafting and negotiation
โ€ข Participate in and lead portfolio management activities, including covenant forecasting, valuation of portfolio investments, and participation in board meetings as an observer
โ€ข The position will be in Charlotte, NC
Qualifications:
โ€ข Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
โ€ข 8-10 years of relevant experience, with a minimum of 3 years of principal investing experience, preferably in Private Credit
โ€ข Has successfully led multiple new investment diligence processes
โ€ข Deep credit experience with ability to identify and structure attractive opportunities for investment
โ€ข Knowledge and experience in portfolio management and monitoring, reporting and valuation
โ€ข Strong organizational skills with ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks concurrently
โ€ข Strong attention to detail with demonstrated track record of self-sufficiency and initiative
โ€ข Excellent written and oral communication skills
โ€ข Advanced proficiency in MS Office, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
