Job description

Are you a hotel operations executive who knows how to turn strong leadership into stronger results?

Total Management Systems (TMS) is seeking a driven, highly accountable Vice President of Operations to lead performance across our growing hotel portfolio.

We are looking for more than an experienced hotel operator. We want a leader who can challenge and develop General Managers, improve profitability, elevate guest service, strengthen operational execution, and help position our company for future growth. This position is based in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

At TMS, โ€œWeโ€™ve Got Your Backโ€ is more than a sayingโ€”it defines how we lead. We support our people, invest in their development, recognize great performance, and provide the tools and coaching necessary to succeed. In return, we expect accountability, initiative and a commitment to excellence. The salary range for this position is $120,000 to $160,000 annually dependent upon experience.

What You'll Own

As Vice President of Operations, you will:

  • Lead and develop General Managers across the hotel portfolio.
  • Drive hotel revenue, profitability, labor productivity and expense control.
  • Review P&Ls and operational performance to identify opportunities and drive corrective action.
  • Maintain a strong field presence through regular hotel visits and hands-on leadership. (60% of work takes place at the corporate office while 40% of work takes place visiting properties within the portfolio).
  • Drive guest service results that meet or exceed brand benchmarks.
  • Ensure operational excellence, brand compliance and QA readiness.
  • Provide oversight and leadership to hotel Food & Beverage operations.
  • Partner with Sales and Revenue leaders when hotels are not achieving topline expectations.
  • Lead annual business planning and budgeting across the portfolio.
  • Build accountability while developing the next generation of TMS hotel leaders.
  • Partner with corporate leadership on new hotel openings, acquisitions, property improvements and development opportunities.
  • Contribute to the continued growth of TMS, including potential third-party hotel management opportunities.
  • Ensure properties within the portfolio are participating in community involvement within the areas they operate.

Who We're Looking For

You may be the right fit if you:

  • Have 3โ€“5+ years of successful multi-property hotel operations leadership experience.
  • Are willing to travel frequently throughout the portfolio.
  • Have a proven record of improving financial and operational performance.
  • Understand hotel P&Ls, budgets, labor management and expense controls.
  • Know how to develop General Managers while holding leaders accountable for results.
  • Have strong knowledge of branded hotel operations, guest service metrics and quality assurance.
  • Bring Food & Beverage operational experience.
  • Are comfortable moving between strategic executive leadership and hands-on hotel operations.
  • Communicate with professionalism, confidence and sound judgment.
  • See opportunities where others see problemsโ€”and take ownership of the solution.

Why Join TMS?

A culture that backs its people.

Our โ€œWeโ€™ve Got Your Backโ€ culture is built around support, development, respect and accountability.

An opportunity to make an impact.

This position has direct influence over the operational and financial performance of the entire hotel portfolio.

A seat at the table.

You will work closely with executive leadership and contribute to decisions affecting operations, investments and future company growth.

The opportunity to build leaders.

Help develop General Managers and emerging leaders who will shape the future of TMS.

A growing organization.

Play an active role in new opportunities, hotel development, acquisitions and the continued expansion of our management platform.

Competitive total rewards.

TMS offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including quarterly bonus plan, health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) with company match, paid time off, and hotel travel discounts.

This Role Is for a Leader Who Wants to Make a Difference

If you are ready to take ownership of portfolio performance while developing people and helping build the next chapter of a growing hotel management company, we want to hear from you.
