Role Overview

The Vice President of Operations is responsible for collaboration with senior leadership for the development and implementation of strategic operational policies and practices. This role is accountable for delivering measurable results aligned with departmental and organizational goals and ensuring alignment with our company vision and core values.

Areas of Accountability
  • Leadership, Management, Accountability
  • Provides leadership for operations, including Practice Management, Facilities, Information Technology (IT) and Health Information Technology (Health IT).
  • Partner with senior leadership to develop and execute operational strategy aligned with organizational mission, values, and annual goals.
  • Establish, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational dashboards (monthly, quarterly, annually).
  • Ensure achievement of annual financial, operational, and quality goals.
  • Lead performance management for operational leaders and ensure accountability structures are in place.
  • Build departmental infrastructure, staffing models, and workflows aligned with growth and organizational needs.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of outpatient clinics and related support services; Collaborate across departments and support strategic initiatives.
  • Manage operational budgets and ensure effective allocation of resources.
  • Prepare and manage operating and capital budgets.
  • Evaluate practice management performance and identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency.
  • Ensure accurate reporting of financial and operational metrics.
  • Negotiate and manage service and vendor contracts as applicable.
  • Policies and Procedures
  • Develop, implement, and monitor operational policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Ensure compliance with HRSA/FQHC requirements and all applicable regulations.
  • Lead continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • IT/Health IT Security and Operations
  • Oversee IT/Health IT department leadership to ensure systems support efficient operations.
  • Utilize EMR and analytics tools to drive operational performance improvement.
  • Ensure data integrity and reporting accuracy.
  • Facilities, Safety & Infrastructure
  • Oversee facilities operations, safety, and space planning.
  • Support facility planning, renovations, and expansions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and infection control standards, including Joint Commission standards.
Education, Licensure/Certification
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university. Additional education in health care administration, public health, public or business administration, or in a closely related field.
Experience, Skills/Abilities Related Requirements
  • 7 to 10 years of experience in health care related field; with at least 5 years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of management, organization, budgeting and staffing applicable to health care programs.
  • Demonstrated competency setting, monitoring and meeting quarterly and annual goals.
  • Soft skills such as effective communication, adaptability, teamwork.
  • Proficiency with EMRs (preferably EPIC), Microsoft Office, Power BI
Continuing Education and Training Requirements
  • Maintain current license/certification, if applicable
  • Completion of funder specific training
