Job Summary:

The Vice President of Sales is responsible for leading and executing Rowell Chemical Corporation’s sales strategy to drive profitable growth, strengthen customer relationships, expand market share, and increase the overall value of the company’s products and services. This role provides strategic leadership to the sales organization while maintaining strong relationships with key customers, identifying new business opportunities, and developing account strategies that support long-term growth.

The VP of Sales serves as a senior leader and key representative of the Company, working collaboratively across Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Safety, Finance, and other departments to ensure customer needs and business objectives are aligned. The position is expected to deliver measurable sales results while reinforcing Rowell’s commitment to customer service, quality, safety, and value.

Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Responsibilities):

  • Sales Strategy & Business Growth
    • Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue, profitability, volume, and market-share objectives.
    • Drive measurable growth by identifying new customers, markets, applications, products, and opportunities to expand existing business.
    • Develop strategies to increase the value of Rowell’s products and services through strong market knowledge, customer insight, pricing, and competitive positioning.
    • Establish sales goals, KPIs, forecasts, and budgets; monitor performance and take action to ensure objectives are achieved.
    • Analyze market trends, competitive activity, customer needs, and business performance to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Strategic Accounts & Customer Relationships
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key customers and strategic accounts, serving as a senior-level representative of Rowell.
  • Develop and execute account strategies that identify growth opportunities, strengthen customer relationships, and increase customer value.
  • Build relationships throughout the customer organization and work the customer ladder to establish connections with operational, purchasing, management, and executive-level contacts.
  • Understand customer operations, business objectives, challenges, and future needs and position Rowell as a strategic partner.
  • Lead the resolution of significant customer issues and ensure a high level of customer service and satisfaction.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing sales team focused on accountability, customer relationships, profitable growth, and measurable results.
  • Establish clear performance expectations, sales goals, and accountability measures for the sales organization.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and develop sales personnel to strengthen their sales, technical, account management, and business development capabilities.
  • Establish effective sales processes, reporting, and tools to support consistent execution and performance.
  • Foster a collaborative, results-oriented sales culture aligned with Rowell’s overall business objectives.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership & Company Values
  • Collaborate with Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Safety, Finance, and other departments to ensure sales commitments align with Company capabilities and objectives.
  • Serve as a safety champion, promoting Rowell’s commitment to safe operations and incorporating safety into customer relationships, sales strategies, and business decisions.
  • Represent Rowell professionally with customers, vendors, industry organizations, and other external stakeholders.
  • Provide senior leadership with insight into sales performance, market conditions, customer needs, opportunities, and risks.
  • Contribute to overall Company strategy and ensure the sales organization supports Rowell’s commitment to customer service, quality, safety, and value.

Qualifications (Knowledge, skills, and abilities):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field. Masters degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive sales and business development experience, with demonstrated success in developing and executing sales strategies and driving measurable revenue and profitable growth.
  • Chemical Distribution experience / knowledge of chlor-alkali industry preferred
  • Excellent working knowledge of and experience using the Microsoft office suite of products – Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel in particular.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, analyze financial data, and make data-driven decisions that align with business objectives.
  • Experience in a small to mid-sized manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Collaborates effectively with diverse teams across varying roles and experience levels.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

  • Monday – Friday (full-time).

Travel

  • 20-30% travel offsite to sister site Milport in Milwaukee will be required.
