VP of Finance

Who: A strong, stable, and rapidly growing manufacturing organization is seeking a strategic and hands-on VP of Finance to lead and scale its finance and accounting function.

What: The VP of Finance will oversee all financial operations including accounting, financial reporting, ERP optimization utilizing Acumatica, internal controls, budgeting, strategic planning, and team leadership while supporting operational growth and scalability.

When: This is an immediate hire to support the company’s continued expansion and strengthen its financial infrastructure and reporting capabilities.

Where: Denver, Colorado.

Why: This role is being created to build a scalable finance organization, enhance financial visibility, optimize systems and processes, and support long-term strategic growth initiatives.

Office Environment: Collaborative and fast-paced manufacturing environment seeking a strategic finance executive with strong operational finance, cost accounting, and ERP leadership experience who can build teams and drive scalable financial processes.

Salary: $225,000 – $275,000 base salary plus bonus, equity opportunities, and a comprehensive benefits package including healthcare, retirement plans, and flexible time off.

Position Overview:

The VP of Finance will serve as the senior finance leader responsible for overseeing the company’s accounting and finance operations, driving financial strategy, implementing scalable systems and controls, optimizing the Acumatica ERP platform, supporting operational and capital project growth, and building a high-performing finance organization capable of supporting rapid expansion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead all accounting and finance operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, treasury, financial reporting, and compliance.
  • Oversee and optimize the company’s Acumatica ERP platform to improve financial visibility, reporting accuracy, operational efficiency, and scalability.
  • Establish and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to support a rapidly growing organization.
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare and oversee financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Manage external audit processes, tax coordination, and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Partner with executive leadership to support strategic planning, forecasting, budgeting, and business decision-making.
  • Develop KPI reporting and financial dashboards to improve operational and financial performance visibility.
  • Partner cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, engineering, and project teams to support cost management and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee inventory accounting, cost accounting, fixed assets, capital expenditures, and project-based accounting activities.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance and accounting team as the organization scales.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve systems, reporting, processes, and internal controls.
  • Support M&A activity, capital planning, banking relationships, and investor reporting as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • CPA and/or MBA preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive finance and accounting leadership experience within a growing organization environment.
  • Strong manufacturing finance, cost accounting, and operational finance experience required.
  • Experience leading and optimizing Acumatica ERP systems strongly preferred.
  • Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial controls, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience building scalable finance organizations and implementing financial processes and controls.
  • Strong strategic leadership skills combined with a hands-on operational approach.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, organizational, and leadership abilities.
Preferred Experience:
  • Experience within manufacturing, industrial, energy, or project-driven industries.
  • Experience supporting rapid growth, system implementations, and operational scaling initiatives.
  • Experience with inventory accounting, project accounting, and capital project environments.
  • Experience partnering closely with executive leadership on strategic financial planning and operational decision-making.
