Job Description

Sarnova is the leading national specialty distributor of health care products in Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Respiratory Markets and is the industry leader in Revenue Cycle Management within Emergency Medical Services (EMS). The company operates through several market-leading companies including Tri-anim Health Services, the largest specialty distributor of respiratory products, Bound Tree Medical, the largest supplier of EMS products, and Cardio Partners,a full Sudden Cardiac Arrest Solution provider, and Digitech, the leader in EMS revenue cycle management.

Summary:

Sarnova is seeking a Vice President, Manufacturing Operations to lead the company’s medical product manufacturing strategy, operational execution, global component sourcing, and manufacturing facility development. This executive leader will be responsible for building and scaling best-in-class manufacturing capabilities that support Sarnova’s mission to be the best partner for those who save and improve patients’ lives.

This position directly impacts the organization’s ability to deliver high-quality, compliant, and cost-effective products by overseeing manufacturing operations, global sourcing partnerships, and facility expansion initiatives. Through operational excellence, strategic supplier management, and cross-functional leadership, this role drives product availability, quality performance, supply chain resilience, and long-term profitability while supporting Sarnova’s mission to be the best partner for those who save and improve patients’ lives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the manufacturing operations function for medical products, including production strategy, capacity planning, cost management, quality performance, and operational scalability.
  • Develop and execute a long-term manufacturing roadmap aligned with Sarnova’s growth objectives, product portfolio needs, and customer service expectations.
  • Oversee domestic and international supplier and contract manufacturing relationships, ensuring reliable sourcing of medical product components, competitive pricing, quality performance, and supply continuity.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with foreign contract manufacturers and global component suppliers, with particular focus on risk management, regulatory compliance, service levels, and total landed cost.
  • Establish and lead a comprehensive supplier quality management program, including supplier audits, corrective actions, scorecards, compliance monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Quality, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Product Management, Finance, Engineering, and Commercial teams to ensure manufacturing operations support product safety, compliance, availability, and business growth.
  • Lead the planning, design, construction, commissioning, and operational launch of new medical product manufacturing facilities, including facility layout, equipment selection, staffing models, process flows, and regulatory readiness.
  • Develop and execute manufacturing network optimization strategies, including make-versus-buy assessments, capacity expansion planning, facility footprint optimization, and contract manufacturing evaluations.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators for safety, quality, delivery, productivity, labor efficiency, inventory, waste reduction, and cost improvement.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Quality teams to develop, validate, and continuously improve manufacturing processes, equipment, and controls that ensure product quality, consistency, and compliance.
  • Drive continuous improvement through Lean, Six Sigma, automation, standard work, and disciplined operational management practices.
  • Ensure manufacturing operations comply with applicable medical product regulations, quality systems, safety standards, documentation requirements, and customer expectations.
  • Provide executive oversight for manufacturing quality systems, ensuring compliance with FDA Quality System Regulations (QSR), ISO 13485 requirements, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and other applicable regulatory standards.
  • Drive cost reduction, productivity improvement, and margin enhancement initiatives through process optimization, strategic sourcing, inventory management, and manufacturing efficiencies
  • Develop, mentor, and retain a high-performing manufacturing leadership team capable of scaling operations and delivering consistent execution.
  • Additional job duties as assigned.

Skills/Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in medical product manufacturing, medical device manufacturing, or a closely related regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated executive-level experience leading manufacturing operations, including production, labor planning, capacity management, operational excellence, and financial performance.
  • Significant experience sourcing medical product components internationally, including supplier qualification, negotiation, governance, performance management, and risk mitigation.
  • Established working knowledge of international contract manufacturing models, including experience developing and managing key relationships with foreign contract manufacturers.
  • Direct experience with the design, construction, start-up, and operational readiness of new medical product manufacturing facilities.
  • Strong understanding of regulated manufacturing requirements, quality management systems, supplier quality expectations, and documentation controls.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, influence senior stakeholders, and translate business strategy into executable manufacturing plans.
  • Strong financial acumen, including experience managing operating budgets, capital projects, manufacturing cost models, and productivity initiatives
