Job Title
VP Global Commercial
The Vice President, Global Commercial is responsible for leading overall commercial growth, strategic market development, and revenue generation across key global markets with a global focus. This executive leader will drive strategic growth initiatives across CoorsTek's advanced materials and engineered ceramics portfolio, with emphasis on the Medical, Energy, Automotive, and Industrial sectors.
This role is responsible for expanding existing key accounts, developing new business opportunities, strengthening strategic partnerships, and aligning commercial activities with CoorsTek's global growth objectives. The position requires a highly collaborative leader capable of integrating sales, strategic marketing, engineering, operations, and R&D to deliver differentiated customer solutions and accelerate market penetration across diverse international markets.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience in global technical sales, strategic account management, and market development within advanced materials, specialty manufacturing, industrial technologies, or engineered products.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Leads global sales and strategic marketing efforts across all CoorsTek product lines throughout several regions.
• Drives commercial growth initiatives within Medical, Energy, Automotive, and Industrial market segments by identifying emerging opportunities, expanding strategic accounts, and increasing market penetration.
• Develops and executes global commercial strategies aligned with CoorsTek's long-term business objectives and growth priorities.
• Builds and maintains executive-level relationships with strategic customers, channel partners, OEMs, and industry stakeholders across international markets.
• Identifies, develops, and maintains business growth opportunities with key global customers while creating account-specific growth strategies and long-term partnership plans.
• Achieves revenue, profitability, and market share objectives through disciplined commercial execution and strategic business development.
• Acts as the global commercial lead to prioritize sales opportunities based on macroeconomic trends, market dynamics, customer demand signals, and competitive positioning.
• Works cross-functionally with vertical sales teams, engineering, operations, product management, and R&D to develop customer-centric solutions that align with evolving market needs.
• Through strategic marketing, effectively differentiates CoorsTek from competitors by communicating the value of CoorsTek's advanced material solutions, technical capabilities, and manufacturing expertise.
• Develops and maintains a deep understanding of global market conditions, regulatory environments, industry trends, and customer technologies to shape commercial strategy.
• Creates demand for CoorsTek products and engineered solutions through proactive customer engagement, consultative selling, and technical education.
• Leads collaborative planning efforts including: Strategic Planning, Revenue Forecasting, Product Planning. R&D Alignment & Innovation Prioritization
• Applies commercial and marketing analytics to evaluate market performance, identify growth trends, and improve strategic decision-making.
• Builds CoorsTek's brand and market reputation through participation in trade shows, customer events, strategic partnerships, and industry organizations.
• Provides leadership and expertise to align commercial functions including outside sales, inside sales, sales operations, marketing, pricing, and customer service.
• Manages and develops commercial teams including product managers, key account managers, inside sales representatives, and customer service teams while driving accountability through performance metrics and strategic objectives.
• Drives a collaborative effort between CoorsTek teams including Operations, Engineering, and R&D to deliver customer solutions and accelerate business growth.
Additional Strategic Responsibilities
• Identifies and evaluates new market opportunities, acquisitions, partnerships, and expansion strategies to support long-term global growth.
Job Requirements
Education
• Bachelor's Degree in Ceramics, Materials Science, Metallurgy, Engineering, Business, or a related technical field required
• MBA or other advanced business degree preferred
Experience
• Twenty years of combined education and professional experience demonstrating success leading highly complex global sales, commercial strategy, and account management initiatives required
• Twenty years of technical sales and business development experience within advanced materials, engineered products, industrial manufacturing, specialty ceramics, or related industries preferred
• Significant experience leading strategic commercial efforts across Medical, Energy, Automotive, and Industrial markets
• Demonstrated success managing large global accounts and developing business
• Experience working within highly matrixed global organizations and collaborating across technical (R&D), operational, and commercial functions
• International business experience, including Asia market exposure
Functional / Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Strong understanding of advanced materials, engineered ceramics, specialty manufacturing processes, and industrial applications
• Proven ability to develop and execute strategic commercial growth initiatives across global markets
• Strong executive presence with exceptional relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills across diverse international cultures and business environments
• Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across cross-functional global teams
• Strong analytical, strategic planning, and financial acumen
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and team development capabilities
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of the time
