FIG has a Vice President- Life Insurance position available. This is a full-time position.

Job Summary

The Life Vice President is responsible for providing Life Insurance product knowledge and extraordinary customer service to independent agents/agencies for the establishment and retention of new business. This position will be active in maintaining a knowledge base on a variety of Life products issued by a variety of insurance carriers. The Life VP is responsible for designing insurance solutions that meet the needs of the end client and coach the agent on how to present and explain that solution or possible solutions effectively.  The Life VP must have the ability to expand and retain an active agent base by establishing a good rapport with agents utilizing professional phone skills. The desire and drive to succeed in a competitive financial services setting is imperative. Interaction with licensed agents is essential therefore a state life and health insurance license is required. There are no supervisory responsibilities for this position.  Travel may be required.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct an extensive amount of phone work in order to generate life insurance sales, recruit new agents and service existing agents. Utilize a variety of recruiting and closing techniques to grow the Life VP individual book of business.
  • Work with existing agents to enhance their business by educating and implementing new life insurance strategies or marketing programs to generate additional revenue for their company. Service any inbound requests from contracted agents pertaining to product information, illustrations, contracting, or new business status. Secure new business with contracted agents through various represented carriers.
  • Actively recruit new agents in order by following up on leads from the database and leads over the phone.
  • Thoroughly review contracts, applications, and any other required paperwork submitted by agents. Update and enter all notes and miscellaneous pertinent information into the FIG CRM utilizing data entry skills.  Prepare product illustrations and proposals for agents as well as navigate underwriting challenges and position cases for the optimal outcome.
  • Supports FIG in a variety of other duties and responsibilities as required by supervisor.
Preferred qualifications:
  • This position requires a four-year degree and two years of sales experience. 
  • Prefer previous Life & LTC experience including underwriting, case design, case management and contracting processes. 
  • Expertise in a vast array of life products in order to provide agents with the knowledge of appropriate products and services to best fit their clients’ needs. 
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft office programs such as outlook, word, and excel. 
  • The ability to operate copiers, scanners, and other office technology is required.
  • Able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, oral and written communication skills are a must.
  • A strong commitment to a team culture and positive attitude is required.
