Job description

A highly successful, premier luxury eco-adventure hospitality company is seeking a seasoned executive to step into the role of Vice President of Operations. For nearly five decades, this pioneering organization has seamlessly blended ultra-luxury boutique hospitality with a deep commitment to environmental conservation, funding vital preservation efforts through its exclusive operations. Operating high-end, intimate mobile boutique estates in breathtaking North American wilderness regions, the organization holds coveted, hard-to-obtain national park permits that allow unprecedented access to pristine, protected waters.

Based in the vibrant, booming Pacific Northwest hub of Seattle, Washington, this position offers an incredible lifestyle opportunity for a leader who thrives where urban sophistication meets unparalleled outdoor adventure. The company is embarking on a strategic multi-year growth trajectory, expanding its footprint into new geographic territories and doubling its inventory. This role provides an incoming executive with rare operational leadership and the chance to continue to build a lasting legacy.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the comprehensive, day-to-day hospitality, human resources, staffing, and administrative operations of the organization.
  • Provide strategic leadership and unified accountability for all department heads, including direct oversight of maritime engineering and port operations.
  • Formulate and execute robust training programs to instill an elite, high-touch hospitality edge across all frontline and interior service staff.
  • Manage, audit, and optimize company budgets, ensuring strict adherence to financial controls, accounts payable/receivable, and vendor relationships.
  • Champion the development and modernization of the sales, digital marketing, and search engine optimization efforts, transitioning the current customer service structure into a proactive sales team.
  • Partner closely with ownership during a 60-to-90-day onboarding period to absorb organizational nuances before executing long-term strategic growth plans.

Position Requirements:

  • Proven track record as a General Manager, Multi-Unit Operator, or Operations Executive within ultra-luxury boutique hotels, high-end resorts, or elite eco-adventure operations.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multi-departmental teams with the patience, firmness, and flexibility required to manage complex, non-traditional hospitality environments.
  • Strong business acumen with deep experience in budgeting, cost controls, human resource management, and organizational restructuring.
  • Ability to master and navigate unique regulatory environments, prioritizing logistical safety standards alongside exceptional guest service.
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills to manage long-tenured personnel, high-value vendors, and strategic community partners.
  • Visionary mindset with a willingness to relocate to or reside in the greater Seattle area.

Compensation Package Details:

  • Base Salary: $200,000 to $225,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
  • Performance Bonus: Target of 20% of annual compensation, based on a KPI-driven program developed in collaboration with the incoming executive.
  • Health Benefits: 100% employer-paid comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance covering the executive and their entire family.
  • Retirement: 401(k) matching program at 3% to 5%.
