Objectives of the Role
  • Standardize installation methods, crew productivity standards, and project management workflows across all markets.
  • Build and manage a vetted, contractually compliant subcontractor network across San Antonio, Houston, Austin, and DFW.
  • Improve installed gross margin through labor productivity, rework reduction, and job cost discipline.
  • Eliminate paper from the field - digital daily reports, T&M tickets, punch lists, and photo documentation as the single source of truth.
  • Build construction readiness for new market entry, including DFW.
  • Develop a bench of project managers and superintendents capable of running work without executive intervention.
Field Operations & Delivery
  • Own installation execution across all Texas markets - safety, schedule, quality, and cost.
  • Lead and develop the Project Manager team; set workload standards, review cadence, and escalation protocols.
  • Partner with Manufacturing and Fleet & Supply Chain to align production, delivery, and install sequencing.
  • Resolve field escalations, customer/GC issues, and change conditions with clear commercial judgment.
Process Implementation & Construction Best Practices
  • Author and enforce standardized installation SOPs, quality checkpoints, and crew productivity standards by product type (precast panel, brick/masonry, columns, gates).
  • Implement a disciplined project lifecycle: handoff from Sales, pre-construction planning, submittals, scheduling, execution, punch, closeout, and warranty.
  • Establish change order and RFI discipline - nothing performed without written authorization.
  • Serve as the construction-side owner for proprietary Command Center operating system implementation requirements (job costing, scheduling, field reporting).
Subcontractor Network Development
  • Build, qualify, and manage a Texas-wide subcontractor bench with sufficient depth for redundancy in every market.
  • Own subcontractor prequalification: insurance certificates, W-9, safety history, references, capacity, and licensing.
  • Ensure all subcontractors are onboarded under the current Master Subcontract Agreement with required insurance and indemnity terms in place before mobilization - no work begins without an executed agreement.
  • Establish subcontractor scorecards (safety, quality, schedule, rework) and manage the bench on performance.
  • Develop rate structures and unit pricing that protect installed margin while supporting competitive bidding.
Cost, Margin & Commercial Discipline
  • Own job-level cost performance; drive weekly review of budget vs. actual labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor spend.
  • Partner with Estimating to close the loop between bid assumptions and field reality - feed actual productivity data back into pricing.
  • Reduce rework, remobilizations, and warranty cost through root-cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Approve field expenditures and subcontractor invoices within delegated authority.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
  • Champion a safety-first culture; enforce OSHA compliance, toolbox talks, JHAs, and incident investigation across employee and subcontractor crews.
  • Ensure permitting, inspection, and municipal compliance requirements are met in every jurisdiction.
  • Enforce quality standards at installation and drive corrective action on defects originating in plant or field.
Talent & Leadership
  • Recruit, onboard, and develop Project Managers and Superintendents; build succession depth in each market.
  • Set clear performance expectations and hold the field organization accountable to measurable standards.
  • Partner with HR on workforce planning, crew staffing models, and field labor retention.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field - or equivalent field earned experience.
  • 10+ years of construction operations leadership, including 5+ years managing multi-site project management teams.
  • Demonstrated experience building and managing subcontractor networks across multiple markets.
  • Proven record of implementing standardized processes in an environment previously run on tribal knowledge.
  • Strong job costing, scheduling, and margin management capability.
  • Working knowledge of Texas construction contracting practices, permitting, and OSHA compliance.
  • Willingness to travel across Texas and be present in the field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in precast concrete, masonry, site work, or specialty trade contracting.
  • Experience opening or scaling operations in a new geographic market.
  • Familiarity with construction technology platforms (Procore, Buildertrend, NetSuite, or similar) and paperless field workflows.
  • Prior experience in a private-equity-backed or professionalizing organization.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement training.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish.

What This Role Is Not
This is not a caretaker role overseeing existing routines. Fencecrete's installation function currently operates without standardized methods, formal subcontractor infrastructure, or systematic job cost feedback. The successful candidate will be building those systems while delivering active work - and will be measured on both.
Compensation & Benefits
• Base Salary. $160,000 annually, paid in accordance with standard payroll practices.
• Annual Incentive. Target of 20% of base salary, earned against the Year 1 Success Measures above and reviewed annually.
• Company Vehicle. Company-provided truck with fuel card. Vehicle assignment is subject to the Company's Fleet & Vehicle Use Policy, including satisfactory motor vehicle record (MVR) at hire and annually thereafter, adherence to authorized-driver requirements, and reporting of personal use as a taxable fringe benefit in accordance with IRS regulations.
• Technology. Company-issued mobile phone and laptop.
