Job description

M&K Truck Centers is a premier commercial truck dealership specializing in Mack and Volvo truck sales. We are proud to have received numerous accolades, including the 2025 Dealer of the Year for Volvo Trucks in North America and the 2025 Central Region Dealer of the Year for Volvo Trucks in North America, along with several previous awards highlighting our excellence in sales and service.

We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Outside Sales Representative to join our team and drive sales.

This role will focus primarily on new truck sales, while also offering the opportunity to sell used trucks to meet customer needs and maximize revenue.

The ideal candidate will work with current accounts and actively seek new business opportunities within the assigned territory to grow sales volume and profitability, all while delivering exceptional customer service.

Essential Functions

  • Directly manage all sales activities within the assigned territory, including regional, house accounts, and local chains.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with current accounts to ensure repeat business and customer loyalty.

  • Conduct outreach to prospective customers to explain company offerings and solicit new business.

  • Write customer orders and sales contracts following company guidelines.

  • Document all customer interactions in the provided CRM tool.

  • Achieve sales profit standards and propose customer terms based on profitability and creditworthiness.

  • Keep up to date with required training and knowledge of industry trends and competitor activities.

  • Coordinate with supervisors and attend required meetings as necessary.

  • Assist supervisors with inventory management and other tasks as requested.

The Ideal Candidate Would:

  • Have a minimum of three years’ direct sales experience; outside sales experience is strongly preferred.

  • Have 5+ years of experience in the trucking or transportation industry, with strong knowledge of heavy-duty equipment.

  • Bring a background in truck sales, used equipment sales, or trailer sales, which would make them especially well-suited for this role.

  • Familiarity with the Waukee/Des Moine, IA trucking market.

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Management is preferred.

  • Must possess or obtain a CDL.

  • Exceptional sales and customer service skills.

  • Self-motivated, competitive, and driven to succeed.
