Description Summary
This position is responsible for assisting the Director and Head Coach in all aspects of coaching their assigned event group. Involving recruiting, retaining members, and overall in-season/off-season strategies/programs. The best candidates will be considered regardless of event group expertise.
The Assistant Coach will also serve in a second college assignment: Housing Coordinator. The employment in the above position is contingent upon the Assistant Men's and Women's Track and Field/Cross Country Coach being employed in both assigned positions.

Examples of Duties
Constant (67-100%)
โ€ข Assist the head coach in managing and directing the men's and women's track and field/cross country program.
โ€ข Asist the head men's and women's track and field coach with all aspects of the team including training, competing, and scheduling.
โ€ข Assist with academic progress of student athletes.
โ€ข Assist with recruiting including calling and high school visits of prospective student athletes.
Frequent (34-66%)
โ€ข Commit to and responsible for adhering to all rules and regulations set forth for the team, the College, NJCAA and ICCAC with utmost integrity.
โ€ข Travel outside the Area V recruitment areas.
โ€ข Responsible for distribution and accumulation of grades for team, as well as grade checks.
โ€ข Implementing off-season workouts.
Occasional (10-33%)
โ€ข Assist head coach with fundraising projects.
โ€ข Attend meetings as necessary.
โ€ข Assist in the promotion and support of the department.
โ€ข Perform other duties as assigned.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:
1. Be able and willing to represent Iowa Central Community College in a positive manner with prospective, former, and current students, clients, suppliers, and the community we serve.
2. Help develop a men's and women's track and field/cross country program all can be proud of.
3. Help build strong relations with community coaches and players.
4. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, logically, and coherently, orally and in writing.
5. Ability to work efficiently and accurately in an atmosphere of frequent interruption.
6. Must be able to get along with diverse personalities.
7. Be able and willing to monitor the college housing facilities during all hours of the day.
8. Keep accurate office hours.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate's degree required, Bachelor's preferred. College playing experience and coaching experience at the collegiate level preferred. Must hold a current Class C Driver's License with Passenger Endorsement or willingness to complete prior to athletic season and must maintain throughout duration of employment.
