Job description

Pacific Hospice and Palliative Care is seeking compassionate and caring individuals to join our Hospice Volunteer Team. If you are looking for a meaningful way to give back to your community and make a lasting difference in the lives of patients and families, we invite you to volunteer with us.
As a hospice volunteer, you will provide comfort, companionship, and emotional support to individuals facing life-limiting illnesses and to the loved ones caring for them. Your volunteer time can be in-person, in our office or remote by phone. Your kindness, and presence can bring peace, dignity, and connection during one of life's most important journeys.
This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity.
Why Volunteer with Pacific Hospice and Palliative Care?
Make a Meaningful Impact
Your support can provide comfort, reduce loneliness, and help patients and families feel cared for and supported.
Create Genuine Connections
Build rewarding relationships with patients, caregivers, and fellow volunteers while serving your community in a deeply meaningful way.
Comprehensive Training & Ongoing Support
No hospice experience is required. We provide orientation, training, and continued guidance to help you feel confident and prepared in your role.
Flexible Volunteer Opportunities
We offer a variety of volunteer roles based on your interests, skills, and availability.
Be Part of a Compassionate Team
Join a dedicated group of professionals and volunteers committed to providing dignity, comfort, and quality of life to every patient we serve.
Volunteer Opportunities May Include:
Patient Companionship
Visit with patients, engage in conversation, read, listen to music, play games, or simply provide a comforting presence.
Caregiver Relief (Respite Support)
Provide companionship to patients so caregivers can take a short break to rest or attend to personal needs.
Art, Music & Creative Support
Share your talents through music, crafts, art, or other creative activities that bring joy and comfort to patients.
Telephone Support
Offer friendly check-in calls and emotional support to patients and family members.
Bereavement Support
Assist with grief support and follow-up care for families after the loss of a loved one.
About Pacific Hospice and Palliative Care
Pacific Hospice and Palliative Care is committed to enhancing the quality of life for patients facing serious illness through compassionate, patient-centered care. We believe in caring for the whole person - physically, emotionally, and spiritually - while supporting families every step of the way.
If you are compassionate, dependable, and ready to make a difference, we would love to hear from you.
All volunteers are required to complete orientation and training prior to placement. Background checks, health screenings, and hospice compliance requirements will apply.
