Job description

Inventory Specialist

The Supply Chain division of Operations oversees all pharmaceutical and med-surg products through the life cycle of the product. The Inventory Specialist helps ensure that supplies, drugs, and necessary equipment are purchased according to formulary and ensuring these items are available to be dispensed, delivered, or used in the course of business operation.

Experience

1 year experience in healthcare or purchasing preferred

Education

High School Diploma, 2 years undergraduate education preferred

Essential Duties, Function & Responsibilities
  • Monitors inventory, submits and receives orders on formulary from approved vendors.
  • Reconciles invoices for processing by accounts payable.
  • Supports in managing contracting, purchasing, and receiving of all drug product, med-surg supply, and other necessary materials needed for daily operations.
  • Assists Procurement and Supply Chain Manager with formulary compliance.
  • Tracks, orders, and distributes patient specific medications from specialty pharmacy providers.
  • Monitors and tracks DME and compounding equipment.
  • Participates in company physical inventories per policy.
  • Tracks, monitors and performs inventory functions in both CPR+ and InfuseFlow.
  • Packages, ships, and tracks products needed in other company facilities.
  • Performs cycle inventory counts in pharmacy and clinics.
  • Maintains appropriate documentation.
  • Supplies necessary data during development of company budget as it pertains to material goods. Other related duties as assigned.

Mathematical Skills

Must have the ability to perform basic mathematical computations. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the primary functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to frequently stand, walk, sit, bend, twist, talk and hear. There may be prolonged periods of sitting, keyboarding, reading, as well as driving or riding in transport vehicles. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include reading, distance, computer, and color vision. Talking and hearing are essential to communicate with patients, vendors and staff.
