Department: Emergency Department (ED) / Emergency Room (ER)

Employment Type: Full Time  

Shifts Available: Nights 

Hours: 12-hour shifts - 7:00 pm to 7:00 am

Location: Southern Regional Medical Center – Riverdale, GA

The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) delivers expert, high-acuity care to patients presenting with complex, urgent, and life-threatening conditions in a fast-paced Emergency Department. This role requires advanced clinical judgment, rapid decision-making, and strong prioritization skills to stabilize patients and drive optimal outcomes in time-sensitive situations.


Delivers decisive, high-acuity emergency care while leading rapid assessment, intervention, and coordination to stabilize patients and drive optimal outcomes.

  • Perform rapid triage, assessment, and patient stabilization
  • Deliver high-acuity care including IV therapy, medications, and cardiac monitoring
  • Respond to emergencies and clinical deterioration with speed and precision
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams on real-time care decisions
  • Ensure accurate, compliant documentation (EMTALA, regulatory standards)
  • Educate patients and families on treatment and discharge plans
  • Maintain patient safety, HIPAA compliance, and quality care standards
  • Apply expertise in trauma care, arrhythmia interpretation, and emergency protocols

  • Current and valid state RN License

  • Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current

  • Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current

  • Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC 30 days upon hire and maintain current

  • Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire

  • Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting; E.R. setting preferred

  • Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

  • In Paramedic Base Station ED: MICN within 12 months of hire and maintain current

EDAP certified facilities: Completion of emergency pediatric course 1 and 2 within 6 months of hire
Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNNC) within 12 months of hire required
