Job description

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Design and implementation of High-Power HF RF Amplifiers, Impedance Matching Networks, Phase and Magnitude Detectors, RF Voltage and Current Probes and RF Power Combiners.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Able to design RF Amplifiers using modern topologies
  • Able to design and analyze different match topologies depending on customer requirements
  • Able to understand radio emissions in various conditions, (CW, pulsing)
  • Read and understand basic electrical circuits and schematics
  • Able to design basic control circuits using embedded CPU

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 5 years of related experience (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience). Knowledge of RF plasma applications is a plus.

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree (Masters Preferred) in electrical engineering, or equivalent work experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.

COMPUTER SKILLS: Ability to navigate and use internet/intranet and other programs such as the MS Office package including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access, or Resource Planning software.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Understanding of basic logarithmic scales. Reasonable understanding of Polar <> Rectangular conversions and basic formulas for AC reactance (knowledge of the Smith Chart a plus).

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

SALARY RANGE

The starting annual base pay for the role is between USD $90,000.00 and $130,000.00. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. The role may also be eligible for variable bonus programs and benefits.
