Primary Purpose of Position

The School of Business at North Carolina Central University seeks highly qualified applicants for a 9‑month, tenure‑track position of Assistant/Associate Professor of Accounting. Candidates must hold an earned Ph.D. in Business with a major in Accounting from an AACSB‑accredited institution and demonstrate potential for quality teaching and research. ABD candidates from AACSB‑accredited universities may be considered at the instructor level. Candidates with teaching interests in accounting systems/data analytics and tax, and experience using SAP are preferred. Instructional duties include teaching, curriculum development, and participation in the program’s assurance of learning efforts, and may consist of online instruction. Faculty members are also expected to maintain an active program of scholarship, participate in service activities, and achieve quality productivity in academic research. Exhibit a desire to teach at the undergraduate level, but may be required to teach graduate courses.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Teach accounting systems/data analytics and tax; preferred experience with SAP. Perform teaching, curriculum development, and assurance of learning activities, potentially including online instruction. Maintain an active scholarship program, engage in service activities, and produce high‑quality research. Demonstrate a strong record or potential for producing publications required for AACSB accreditation standards. Commit to teaching at the undergraduate level and possibly graduate courses.
