Job Description The purpose of this position is to perform accounting activities and assume responsibility for maintenance of ledger accounts. Understand and analyze understand the activities being performed with respect to theory and company policy May perform supervisory and training duties Perform general accounting and other related duties in daily administration of the accounting department Maintain general ledger to include the preparation of journal entries, coding of invoices, accounts analysis and reconciliation, closing books monthly, and setting up new accounts Monitor accounts receivables collection from individuals and/or institutions, interface with bank; reconcile customer accounts; may also require booking of sales Maintain accounting records for fixed assets Other duties as assigned Basic Job Requirements Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and two (2) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to six (6) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner Other Job Requirements Preferred Qualifications Education or experience in business/finance preferred Knowledge of Purchase Orders, payment terms, and processing of invoices and/or expense reports Demonstrated proficiency in the use of PC-based business applications Demonstrated proficiency in the use of automated payroll/accounting/business applications Strong interpersonal and communication skills Basic leadership and decision-making skills We are an equal opportunity employer. Market Rate Statement: The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate's qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
