Job description

Job Title: CNC Mill Machinist

$30.00 - $31.00/hr

Location: East Rochester

Job Description

This role focuses on setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC milling machines in a precision machine shop environment. You ensure accurate part production by installing and aligning fixtures and tooling, loading and securing parts, editing CNC programs, and performing detailed inspections. You play a key role in maintaining close tolerances, troubleshooting machining issues, and supporting efficient, high-quality production across multiple CNC mills.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC milling machines for production runs.
  • Install and align fixtures, workholding, and tooling to ensure accurate and efficient machining.
  • Load and secure parts properly in machine fixtures to maintain safety and part quality.
  • Edit and adjust existing CNC programs as needed to optimize machining performance and part accuracy.
  • Perform tool offsets and make machine adjustments to maintain close tolerances and consistent part quality.
  • Conduct first-piece inspections and make necessary corrections before continuing with full production.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions to produce parts to specification.
  • Inspect machined parts using precision inspection equipment, including micrometers, calipers, and other standard measuring tools.
  • Troubleshoot machining and quality issues during production runs and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Monitor and operate multiple CNC mills simultaneously while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with shop safety procedures.

Work Environment

Pay and Benefits
