Job description

Description Saalex Corporation is seeking multiple Field Service Engineer I in Tidewater, VA and San Diego, CA. Saalex Corp., is an Engineering and Information Technology Services company with a focus on Test Range Operations and Management, Engineering and Logistics Services, Data Analytics and Business Intelligence Services and Information Technology Services. Founded in 1999 by Travis Mack, Saalex Solutions is a Service Disabled Veteran-Owned and Operated business with prime and subcontract expertise serving the Navy, Army, Air Force, NASA, corporate clients, and local governments. Saalex offers competitive compensation, career development, flexible work schedules and excellent benefits. Position Type: Contingent on Contract Award. Salary: $65k-$115k (depending on experience) The Field Service Engineer I supports the Navy by installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting IT, network, and hardware systems at fielded locations. This role focuses on hands-on technical support, system integration, and sustainment of mission-critical infrastructure across CONUS and OCONUS environments. Essential Functions: * Install, configure, and maintain IT hardware, network equipment, and peripheral systems at field sites. * Perform on-site troubleshooting and repair of systems including servers, workstations, and network devices. * Support system integration, upgrades, and deployment activities in accordance with engineering and program requirements. * Execute preventive maintenance and system health checks to ensure operational readiness. * Document field activities, configurations, and issue resolution in accordance with program standards. * Collaborate with engineering, network, and cybersecurity teams to resolve technical issues. * Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies, including STIGs and system hardening requirements during installations. * Support logistics coordination for equipment, spares, and replacement parts. Requirements Required: * 1-3 years of experience in field service engineering, IT support, or related technical field. * Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Electronics, or related field (or equivalent experience). * Hands-on experience with installation, troubleshooting, and repair of IT or network systems. * Familiarity with hardware components, cabling, and basic network configurations. * Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+). * Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret, Top Secret, or SCI clearance.
* Ability to travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations as required. * Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in field environments. * Effective communication skills and ability to work independently on-site. Desired: * Experience supporting DoD or Navy fielded systems and remote sites. * Familiarity with ruggedized systems, tactical communications, or deployed environments. * Experience with imaging, system deployment tools, or configuration scripts. * Active Secret, Top Secret, or SCI clearance preferred. Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Electronics, or related field (or equivalent experience). Security Clearance: Must be eligible to obtain a Secret, Top Secret, or TS/SCI clearance. Active clearances preferred.
