Job description

Level 2 NDT Technician
This is a full-time opportunity with IAG. This is considered a remote-field role and will work at a client facility completing scans and testing.
The job will be located in Waterford NY through November 2027 and candidates should reside within Albany/Waterford areas.
Candidates local to Albany / Waterford NY areas encouraged to apply.
This role may require travel to project locations and support additional project after November 2027.
Position Summary:
The Level 2 NDT Technician is responsible for onsite inspections of vessels, tanks, and piping for the customer. The goal of the Technician is Operation Excellence and Technical Quality.

Key Roles & Responsibilities
  • This Role includes delivery of services on time, safety and with the highest quality possible.
  • Where qualifies the position supports training, Technique development, and delivery of specialized services utilizing automated and computerized inspection systems.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
  • Actively participates in JSA and uses all necessary steps to complete tasks safely and ensures the safety of others working in the area.
  • Communicates with all levels of management and crew to effectively present any needs and changes.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Complexity, Decision-Making, Problem Solving
  • Must be able to climb ladders and carry inspection equipment.
  • Must be comfortable in confined spaces.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • The ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Experience with isometric drawing of piping systems (Desired)
  • Experience in a customer service focused organization.
  • Strong customer service communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Work independently, in a safe and effective manner with minimal direction and supervision in a procedure driven environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Qualifications (Education, Experience, Certifications)
  • L2 NDT Certification with verifiable hours & methodology
    • MT / PT / VT / UT
  • Technical Degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to pass a Background Security check.
  • High School Diploma

Other Considerations - Nice to Have
Level 2 certifications in one or more of the following:
  • API Certifications - bonus to have but not required:
    • API 510
    • API 653
    • API 570

Physical Demands & Work Environment:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to sit/stand for long periods of time; routinely walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and reach with hands and arms.
  • Must be able to lift push, pull and/or move more than 50 pounds occasionally.
  • The physical environment for this position requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions in extreme temperatures and weather.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. Double hearing protection is occasionally required.
  • The position consists of a standard 40-hour workweek, with overtime as the customer requires and during turnaround periods. Minimum travel is required.
  • Must be comfortable in confined spaces and willing to wear SCBA (Self containing breathing apparatus) on a semi-routine basis.
