About the Role
HeyTutor has partnered with a local school district in Washington DC to provide high-impact, in-person tutoring toMiddle School and High School students. Applicants must have completed an Associate's degree or higher, or be currently enrolled in college.
We are hiring Math Tutors to support students in grades 6th-12th during the school day. This is a great opportunity for college students, aspiring educators, and education professionals looking for consistent hours, competitive pay, and meaningful work in their community.
An in-person background check is required.
Pay & Benefits
  • $29-$32 per hour, based on education and experience

Schedule
  • Monday-Friday availability required
  • Must be available between 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM
Requirements
  • Completed AA degree or higher, OR currently enrolled in college (required)
  • Experience working with children or tutoring preferred
  • Comfortable tutoring Math to 6th-12th.
  • Ability to manage small groups independently
  • Comfortable working in a classroom setting
  • Ability to pass an FBI-DOJ in-person background check (provided by HeyTutor)

Key Responsibilities
  • Tutor small groups of Elementary students without direct teacher supervision
  • Deliver lessons using provided curriculum and materials
  • Create an engaging and welcoming learning environment
  • Support positive student behavior and participation
  • Track attendance and student progress using the HeyTutor Dashboard
  • Assist with student assessments when requested
  • Escort students to and from designated areas on campus
  • Clock in/out daily using Deputy
  • Complete additional duties as assigned
