About the Role:

We are looking for a skilled, detail-oriented, and quality-focused Manufacturing Specialist to join our team! In this role, you'll engage in a variety of semi-repetitive tasks, including hand soldering, mechanical assembly, and machine operation. Work Schedule:

  • 4-day/10-hour work week.
  • Shift 1: Monday-Thursday, 5:30 AM - 4:00 PM
  • Shift 2: Monday-Thursday, 4:00 PM - 2:30 AM; plus a shift differential of $1.50.
  • Overtime may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform basic mechanical and/or electrical operations or assemblies, ensuring accuracy and adherence to technical specifications.
  • Perform hand soldering of basic SMT and through-hole components under supervision.
  • Operate manufacturing equipment while adhering to safety protocols to optimize production processes and maintain efficiency.
  • Perform routine cleaning and basic preventative maintenance tasks on assigned machines.
  • Follow standard work instructions and maintain a clean, safe work area.
  • Conduct inspections of finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Perform other duties or support other areas as needed based on business requirements or production flow.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to follow written instructions.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
  • Basic computer literacy and the ability to follow written instructions.
  • Good manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and visual acuity.
  • Ability to handle small components and soldering tools safely.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend English to interpret work instructions, documentation, and safety requirements.
  • Effective verbal and written communication in a technical environment.
  • Collaborates effectively within a team and adjusts to shifting priorities and environments.
  • Must be U.S. persons within the definition of ITAR, with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee. We can not sponsor visas.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a manufacturing or machine operation environment.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 13485, ITAR).
  • Basic mechanical aptitude or technical coursework.

Key Metrics and Focus Areas:

  • Accuracy of machine operations and adherence to work instructions.
  • Production throughput and efficiency in assigned tasks.
  • Compliance with safety and quality standards.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift and carry materials or feeder reels up to 25 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity to handle boards, tools, and fixtures.
  • Stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
  • Work in ESD-controlled and machine operation environments.

Compensation:

This is a non-exempt position. Compensation is based on experience in manufacturing, education, and prior experience in electronics manufacturing.
