NewGround International is a multidisciplinary firm specializing in strategy, design, build, and interiors. Our distinctive services encompass being a MillerKnoll dealer, among other leading furniture lines. We are presently in search of a full-time employee to serve as a Junior Interior Specialist. This role will be an integral part of a talented small team based in our Waterloo office. The successful candidate will excel in collaborative environments, be ready to assist the team with multiple projects and duties that arise in a small studio environment and demonstrate ease in working with colleagues both locally and across our regional offices throughout North America. The ideal candidate will assist the team with creating innovative and dynamic branded spaces for our clients within the financial institutions.

GENERAL SKILLS
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Proficient with Microsoft office applications
Competent with Revit, AutoCAD, Enscape and Lumion,
Experience with Sketchup, CET, InDesign, ProCore and Bluebeam
Knowledge of Interior finishes, furniture, codes and construction processes
Knowledge of retail branded environments, digital marketing and Environmental Graphics
Strong knowledge of space planning, material selections and colour theory.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Generate Revit and/or AutoCAD interior drawings for construction documents
Assist designers with finish selections and conduct product research
Produces finish boards and drawings for presentations
Generate finish boxes and/or the Finish and Furniture Guide for all projects
Produces content for client presentations, construction documents, project manual, and will pick- up redlines for projects
Coordinates with A&E, Environmental, Build, and Consultants
Interface with manufacturer's representatives to schedule appointments
Maintains Sample library on an ongoing basis
Perform all other related work, as assigned or as apparent
EXPECTATIONS

Become proficient in Revit
Strive to achieve Interior Designer status
Meet deadlines in a timely manner
Strong attention to detail
Must be a team player
Occasional travel may be required
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE PREREQUISITES

Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture or related field required
0-3 years of professional experience in commercial Interior Design
Possession of a valid G driver's license is required for rental cars
Knowledge with Revit, AutoCAD, Enscape, Lumion, and InDesign is preferred
Intern status with ARIDO or equivalent Certification will be given preference
