Job Description: At The Northern Virginia Volleyball Association (NVVA), we know that some of our athletes are eager to give back to the volleyball community. Whether your motivation is to accrue volunteer hours for college applications, for a National Honor Society membership, or simply because you believe that giving back to the world is important, we can provide a platform to assist you. We are looking for athletes that have proven themselves on the court with NVVA teams in the past. They've shown an eagerness to learn and improve, and an excitement for the game. This is a big commitment. Volunteers must plan to work with a coach and specific team for a full Galaxy season. This allows the volunteer, the coach, and the team to all benefit from the volunteer's time in this capacity.


Objectives:

  • Give back to the NVVA Community
  • Build connections with the coach and the team you are volunteering with
  • Learn basic coaching skills by observing a coach implement their practice plans throughout the season.
  • Be a contributing presence on the court. Anticipate what the coach and athletes need.
  • Learn more about the game and what goes into coaching


Responsibilities:

  • Be on time for each practice
  • Be proactive - Communicate with the coach to understand how to help the team during each practice.
  • Model expected athlete behavior
  • Check in and out of the facility through Bamboo
  • Complete the season or agreed to time span
