Most hospitals offer orientation and training to ensure volunteers are prepared for their responsibilities.

Job description

With Weatherby Healthcare, a division of CHG Healthcare, you can love what you do and make a difference in people's lives. We are experts in providing highly qualified locum tenens physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners to hospitals and healthcare facilities in all 50 states. We are known for our invigorating culture, but what really gets us out of bed in the morning is the fact that our efforts touch the lives of millions of patients every year.

The Hospital Privileging Coordinator manages the full credentialing and privileging process for providers on assignments that require hospital privileges and/or facility credentials. This role works directly with providers and client facilities to keep applications, verifications, and documentation moving on tight timelines. Success calls for sharp attention to detail, strong communication, and the ability to stay organized as priorities shift.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the credentialing and privileging process end to end for each assigned client - mapping that facility's specific medical staff rules, regulations, and bylaws, and tracking every requirement against them.
  • Guide providers through what's needed by setting clear expectations, pre-populating applications for their review, and coordinating the verifications, documents, occupational health records, and procedure logs required to complete each file.
  • Spot potential delays before they happen and troubleshoot proactively, so provider start dates and client deadlines stay on track.
  • Partner with clients, providers, and internal teams to resolve roadblocks.
  • Deliver clear, personable communication in every interaction, tailored to the unique needs of each provider and client.

Qualifications:

  • Analyze information, identify inconsistencies and solve problems independently
  • Skilled at managing urgent deadlines and shifting priorities without losing organization
  • Strong written and verbal communicator across providers, clients, and internal teams
  • Detail-oriented, with the organizational skills to track many moving pieces at once
  • Proficient in Outlook, MS Word and Excel, with solid general computer skills

Education & Years of Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework preferred
  • At least one year of administrative experience supporting professional-level work in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Minimum one year in a clerical or support role

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in healthcare or staffing
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology
  • College degree
