Job Summary
The Saw operator is a position that operates saws that include Hem Saws, Amada Saws, Tsune Saws. Saws that are efficiently in cutting metal materials and industrial environment. The job supports the warehouse material handlers on an as needed basis. This includes filling orders, pulling material, and general warehouse operations. Knowledge in dealing with specialized equipment and adhering to the operational duties with the highest safest requirements.

Function in the Job
Heavy work - Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Job Function
• Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements. Follows order filling procedure.
• Measures work piece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.
• Completes filling out work order and production sheets with all necessary information (lot number, tag number, P.O., packaging information.) Cuts from and returns to rem stock.
• Uses chop saw to fill orders.
• Observes machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction.
• Performs preventative maintenance such as oiling machines.
• Reports and irregularities to supervisor for direction.
• Maintains work area in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
• Wears hard hat, safety shoes, and safety glasses.
• All other duties and responsibilities assigned by management.
Required Skills
• 2-5 years of relevant experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities required.
• Warehousing and material handling experience preferred.
• Experience setting up, operating, and troubleshooting saws preferred.
• Ability to show adequate manual dexterity, finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and multi-limb coordination required.
• Basic measurement skills, including taking, converting, and/or using measurements of length, width, height, and weight to perform basic math computations correctly required.
• Basic arithmetic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions required.
• Basic computer proficiency and working knowledge of software applications required.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively required.
• Ability to make sound decisions based on a combination of factors including knowledge, experience, and judgment required.
• Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with supervisors and co-workers required.
• Ability to speak and read in English and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
• Operate forklift, overhead crane and other equipment and tools necessary to perform the job.
• Ability to read a tape measure, caliper and micrometer.
• Interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule
• Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional variance.
• Must adhere to all safety rules.
Compensation Range
The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $24.00/Hr. - USD $25.00/Hr. depending on experience, qualifications, and location.
