Job description

Solve Complex Human Injury Questions. Shape Outcomes in High-Stakes Cases.

Are you a biomechanical engineer who thrives on solving challenging real-world problems? Do you enjoy combining engineering, physics, and data analysis to uncover the truth behind complex incidents?

We are seeking a highly motivated Biomechanical Engineer to join our team of forensic experts. In this role, you will investigate accidents, analyze injury mechanisms, reconstruct events, and provide scientific conclusions that help attorneys, corporations, insurers, and courts understand what happened and why.

This is an exceptional opportunity for engineers who want to apply their technical expertise beyond the traditional laboratory or product-development environment and become recognized experts in a growing forensic engineering practice.

Why Join Us?

  • Work on litigation and forensic investigations
  • Apply advanced biomechanics to real-world cases
  • Conduct accident reconstructions and injury causation analyses
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary experts across engineering, medicine, and safety fields
  • Build a professional reputation as a subject matter expert
  • Receive support toward professional certifications
  • Enjoy a dynamic work environment with a blend of office, field, and courtroom experience

What You'll Do

As a Biomechanical Engineer, you will analyze complex injury and accident scenarios to determine the forces, motions, and mechanisms involved in human injury events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform biomechanical and injury causation analyses involving:
    • Motor vehicle collisions
    • Slip, trip, and fall incidents
    • Falling-object cases
    • Mechanical failures
    • Recreational, industrial, and marine accidents
  • Reconstruct accident events using:
    • Engineering principles
    • Computer simulations
    • Physical models
    • Scientific and medical research
  • Evaluate occupant kinematics, seatbelt usage, airbag interactions, and occupant positioning in vehicle crashes
  • Analyze medical records, imaging studies, accident reports, photographs, witness statements, depositions, and other case materials
  • Conduct vehicle inspections, site evaluations, and field investigations
  • Research and apply relevant scientific literature, industry standards, and governmental regulations
  • Prepare clear, concise, and well-supported expert reports
  • Present technical findings to attorneys, clients, and other stakeholders
  • Provide expert testimony during depositions, arbitrations, and trials

What Makes You Successful

You are:

  • Naturally curious and investigative
  • Comfortable working independently on complex technical problems
  • Detail-oriented and scientifically rigorous
  • Confident presenting findings to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Interested in becoming a trusted expert in your field
  • Excited by a career that combines engineering, medicine, research, and real-world problem solving

Work Environment & Travel

This position offers a balance of office work and client interactions with occasional field investigations and inspections.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Site inspections and field evaluations
  • Vehicle examinations and accident scene investigations
  • Travel to client locations and legal proceedings
  • Occasional climbing, lifting, bending, and accessing confined spaces

Travel requirements are approximately 25%, including rare overnight travel.

Compensation & Growth

We offer a competitive compensation package, professional development opportunities, certification support, and the chance to work on intellectually challenging cases with meaningful real-world impact.

If you're ready to apply your biomechanical expertise to complex investigations and become a recognized expert in forensic engineering, we'd like to hear from you.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, understandable conclusions
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications
