Position Summary

Street Level Strategy, LLC is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to lead the recruitment, engagement, and management of volunteers supporting campaigns within Street Level's political and public affairs portfolio. The Volunteer Coordinator plays a key role in building and maintaining a strong volunteer program by recruiting volunteers, coordinating schedules, providing training and support, and ensuring volunteers are effectively integrated into campaign operations.

This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, people-oriented, and passionate about community engagement. Successful candidates are proactive communicators who enjoy building relationships, motivating volunteers, and supporting fast-paced, mission-driven campaigns.


What You Will Achieve

Volunteer Recruitment & Engagement

  • Recruit and onboard volunteers for grassroots campaign activities such as canvassing, phone banking, and event staffing
  • Manage campaign interns in partnership with the campaign leadership
  • Develop and maintain relationships with volunteers to encourage long-term engagement
  • Identify volunteer interests, skills, and availability to match individuals with appropriate opportunities
  • Promote volunteer opportunities through outreach efforts and community partnerships


Volunteer Coordination & Scheduling

  • Coordinate volunteer schedules and assignments across campaign activities
  • Ensure volunteers receive timely communication regarding shifts, events, and expectations
  • Collaborate with campaign leadership to align volunteer efforts with campaign priorities
  • Provide ongoing support to volunteers before, during, and after campaign activities


Community Event Staffing and Management

  • Assist with campaign meet and greet scheduling, host vetting, and site visits
  • Activate meet and greet hosts to promote their events to their friends and neighbors
  • Staff meet and greets and lead day-of event logistics
  • Manage meet and greet attendee lists and funnel interested supporters to their appropriate work stream


Training & Professional Development

  • Conduct volunteer orientations and trainings
  • Develop and maintain volunteer guides, procedures, and best practices
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and support to help volunteers succeed in their roles
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and mission-driven volunteer experience


Administrative & Program Management

  • Maintain accurate volunteer records, applications, schedules, and participation data
  • Track volunteer engagement and program metrics
  • Coordinate volunteer recognition and appreciation events
  • Assist with reporting and other administrative tasks related to the volunteer program
  • Assist the candidate in managing incoming campaign requests for meetings and events


Who You Are

  • Experience coordinating volunteers, community organizing, event coordination, or campaign operations preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and engage volunteers
  • Proficient with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Calendar, Gmail) or similar software
  • Self-starter who works well independently and collaboratively
  • Passion for politics, advocacy, community organizing, and grassroots engagement


Schedule

  • Full-time position
  • Schedule flexibility required based on campaign needs
  • Must be able to maintain predictable and reliable attendance
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed to support volunteer activities and campaign events


Compensation

6K per month (Exempt)
