CNC Wireform Machine/Automation Setup Technician

Location: Plymouth, MI
Job Type: Full-time, 1st Shift (5:00 AM – 1:30 PM)
Industry: Automotive Manufacturing
Salary Range: Hourly rate depends on skill level / experience

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team in Plymouth, MI. In this 1st-shift role, you will learn to set up, program, and operate our high-precision CNC cold-forming machinery and automation cell, transforming raw wire stock into critical components for the automotive sector. While prior experience with CNC wire-forming machinery and Fanuc Robots is preferred, we are fully willing to train the right candidate who possesses a strong foundational background in manufacturing and mechanical setup.

Key Responsibilities

  • Machine Setup & CNC Programming: Learn to perform complete mechanical setups, tooling changes, and adjustments on CNC wire-bending and spring-winding machines. Edit, optimize, and troubleshoot programs directly on the machine control interfaces to correct geometric variances for automotive wire parts.
  • Robot Programming: Learn to program robots in our automated cells
  • Quality Assurance: Inspect first-piece and in-process parts using micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose mechanical malfunctions, wire feed tooling wear, and software errors swiftly to minimize machine downtime and maintain production targets.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of general manufacturing experience required.
  • Robotic Experience: Prior experience with using robots; Fanuc preferred.
  • CNC Knowledge: Prior experience setting up and operating CNC wire-forming or spring-coiling machinery is highly preferred, but we are willing to train candidates with strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Technical Acumen: Strong mechanical aptitude with a desire to learn advanced automated machinery programming.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods in a manufacturing environment.
