About the Role
We are seeking a Bakery Oven Operator to join our team at our Swedesboro, NJ bakery. As a Bakery Oven Operator, you will be accountable for executing precise baking processes, monitoring product quality from proofing through cooling, and supporting safe, efficient oven operations while providing coordination and guidance to the oven area team.
Shift & Schedule
  • Shift: 1st
  • Schedule: 6AM - 2:30PM
  • Weekend Availability: As scheduled

Compensation
  • Salary Range: $20.00 - $21.25

Core Accountabilities (What You'll Be Doing)
  • Operate and monitor proof box and oven systems to ensure products meet defined baking profiles and quality standards
  • Inspect product quality throughout the baking process, from proofer plates to cooling conveyors
  • Coordinate and support oven area team members through work assignments, training, and daily direction
  • Maintain accurate and timely production and process control documentation
  • Promote continuous improvement by participating in root cause analysis, waste reduction, and AOE activities
  • Ensure compliance with GMPs, food safety, and health and safety requirements
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in all assigned areas

Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)
  • Ability to work consistently at required production pace and quality standards
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to monitor product characteristics and process data
  • Basic data entry skills with the ability to record information accurately and timely
  • Ability to follow standard work procedures and safety requirements
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in a production environment with heat, noise, and airborne flour dust
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks

Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)
  • Prior bakery, food manufacturing, or oven operation experience
  • Experience training or leading team members in a production environment
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement systems (AOE, Centerline, CIL, or similar)
  • Problem-solving and root cause analysis experience
  • Strong commitment to food safety, quality, and operational excellence
